As background, I run semi/non-scale/traditional sized engines, rolling stock, and passenger cars. Most of my modern engines are TMCC but I have a few WBB conventional and several PW engines/sets that I inherited and will not modify for TMCC, so I'll always have a mix. I use powermasters for conventional operation, so I don't see any need to add LC/LC+ technology.

I tend to prefer steam and don't want any more diesels. I've been trying to buy "something different" with recent purchases. Meaning, something different than the ubiquitous traditional Hudsons, Pacifics, and Berks which all appear to have similar or the same boiler.

I'm limited to 42" curves.

My last two engines were the WBB 4-6-0 (which I had upgraded to TMCC) and the little Lionel 0-6-0 docksider.  Nice contrast.

So, based on that, I'm have these on my wish list:

1.  K-Line C&O 2-6-6-6 Allegheny - I've got a bunch of K-line hoppers pulled by a traditional WBB semi-scale Chessie Hudson. Nice looking engine, but in my quest for "something different", I think I'd like my coal train pulled by something unique like this.

2.  Streamlined Steamer - I really like the K-line or K-line by Lionel semi-scale Empire State Express Hudson.  I see one of the sponsors has one for sale.  Looks like it'd be a great addition.  If not this, I'm thinking of a WBB J Class, but it looks odd to me like it needs a bigger tender for that lengthy engines.

Any recommendations on these or others?

The WBB J class has been my main runner on my Redford Theatre display the past 3 years or so.  No signs of wear and it always gets the job done after many hours of operation.  Just pulled it off the layout for the year yesterday as we're dismantling things after having operated most weekends since the end of November.
