Can't figure this one out. New computer, running windows 8. Trying to download sound file. Using USB/serial port cable to TIU. I can get as far as loading sound to engine then get error message Unable to continue, no serial port found on this computer. Camera works on ports. Looked under options toolbar and tried looking for TIU, same result, no serial port found. I haven't had this problem before.
Where should I begin looking for problem?

Chuck, Some unclarity in your post. Question of whether the issue arises when to have selected the sound file and try to download it to the loco, or right after you select download a sound file.
Have you been able to download DCS 4.3 to the TIU and remote? If not, try it to see if the computer can detect the TIU.
I used my laptop (win 8.1) and I was able to verify the serial port from the devices window (from a right click on your PC, properties, and devices (I think)). You should be able to see the serial port under the USB hierarchy. It required several times (rebooting both computer and TIU) before I got it to work and then I had to go through it again when I changed from TIU download to Handheld download. Try having the automatic finding the serial port and alternate with it not being automatic. That worked for me.
Problem was a bad or outdated USB to RS232 cord.
