I'm looking at possibly doing my first kitbashing attempt, but before I go through all that effort, I need to know if there are any manufactured decal kits with the Amtrak Phase IV scheme in O Gauge?  My websearches have found decals sets of all sorts in N and HO, but not so much in O.

My plan is to rebadge a Santa Fe Streamlined Silver Dome Car into having Amtrak Phase IV colors strips along the window lines.

Thanks!

Never thought about the painting option.  Thanks, that sounds like a good idea.

I'm not particular about the car numbers so that won't be a problem.  As long as I have the Red, White & Blue stripes, I might not even notice that it doesn't say "Amtrak."

Speaking of names, how would I go about removing the "Santa Fe" lettering without scratching the side of the car?  Any particular chemical agents?

Try 2000 grit wet dry sandpaper. Use it wet with a drop of soap. Don't worry about stripping the letterboards, you can just repaint them. Or, just lightly sand to knock down the edges of the lettering and paint silver over them. It wasn't (isn't, look at the superliners) uncommon for the old lettering to still be ghosted on them after removal.
