O Gauge Amtrak Phase IV Decals?

Paint a white stripe, micro scale makes Amtrak blue film and 1/16" red pinstripes. Finding the white "Amtrak", car type and car number will be the difficult part

Never thought about the painting option.  Thanks, that sounds like a good idea.

 

I'm not particular about the car numbers so that won't be a problem.  As long as I have the Red, White & Blue stripes, I might not even notice that it doesn't say "Amtrak."

 

Speaking of names, how would I go about removing the "Santa Fe" lettering without scratching the side of the car?  Any particular chemical agents?

Here's another possibility: Try Dave at LBR Ent.

They are sponsors and easy to work with. Everyone that's used them are happy, including myself.

+1 on using LBR/Dave.

Try 2000 grit wet dry sandpaper. Use it wet with a drop of soap. Don't worry about stripping the letterboards, you can just repaint them. Or, just lightly sand to knock down the edges of the lettering and paint silver over them. It wasn't (isn't, look at the superliners) uncommon for the old lettering to still be ghosted on them after removal.
