I see on EBay that you can get 100 O Gauge figures for around $15. Actually they are 1:50 scale. Has anybody tried these and do you have an opinion how good they are?

I have purchased these http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-Set-100-Mixed-Standing-People-Figure-Painted-RR-Train-Model-1-100-HO-Scale-/320863586984?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item4ab4f5caa8 and also sitting people only and been happy.
I saw these at York, and bought a bag of "S" scale ones. They are Preiser rip-offs, not as detailed, and painted in garish (aka bright) colors. However, they are a good buy for the money.
Al, it depends on what you are using them for. For backgrounds and car/building interiors they work OK. As Joe says, they're painted garish colors, the details on the figures aren't great, but depending on where they are and your realism quotient, they can serve a purpose. Of course, you could paint some of them and certainly dull coat them. If you are into realism and are used to Arttista, Preiser, or even Woodland Scenics figures, you may be disappointed, particularly if you are using them in the foreground. Otherwise, worth a try as they are certainly not expensive.

Guys thanks for the replies. We would be using them on a 7.5 x 20 childrens museum layout. I don't believe we want to use these. Now all I have to do is find budget to get the better figures.

i've ordered from "WE Honest" the figures are not as nice as scenic accents or Arttista but for background they fill in nicely.
