O Scale Buildings Show and Tell

This is the first kit that I built and weathered. Its by Korber. Named it 'JAY' Tower after the L.I.R.R.'s Jamaica Tower in Jamaica, Queens NY. I used to take the train home on weekends while attending SUNY Stonybrook.

I love this pottery factory....  

Because it has a lot of character, I was really drawn to the Lionel PRR MG Switch Tower.  I saw it's potential to be a small town passenger station.  After adding some extra,s including a smoke unit, I turned it into one.

Cesar I love the graffiti on the switch tower. It looks very realistic. 

Mr. Muffin, that pottery factory looks very nice! Is it a kit? The stone on the outside looks real! 

Keith, I like how you were able to change that into a passenger station. Looks very cool and it definitely worked out for you! 

Alan, that is one colossal building! Is that a kit? It must be because it is huge! It definitely gives a big city feel to any layout. Especially with the passenger terminals you have next to it.

How did you make the water going down the mountain? It looks like it is moving. 

The granary really makes the scenery complete. 

Wow those are some great buildings Alex! I love the old school gas stations. They have a different look to them than anything out there today. Too bad most of them if not all of them are long gone.

The water is clear silicone caulking. I squeeze out parallel beads of caulk along the length of the stream. Then smooth it out with a small stick. You can also "whip" it up a little with the stick to get a whitish frothy look for rapids.

At the bottom of waterfalls, I add a few wisps of cotton or polyfiber to represent spray.

My homemade Lumber Shed. Built reluctantly when I couldn't find one I wanted to complement my Sawmill. Crude by comparison to the structures pictured above but served a specific purpose[or will when I finish it].

Jim I love those elevated train stations and structures especially when they are running through a city. It looks really realistic. 

Joe, that is one unique building! I have never seen something like that. It also has a nice finish on the outside to it.

Wow, some great photos of some excellent work by a lot of folks!  Real tallent.

I am pretty happy with the outcome of the Korber 304 Roundhouse on my layout, I expanded it to 6 stalls.

Rich that roundhouse looks amazing! You should definitely "pimp" out the inside of the roundhouse with lots of detail. It looks highly realistic already! 

Scott, I love the interior of that diner! How did you do that? Did it come like that?
