Has anyone ever contacted a detail company to make a Detail Part?  Did you have any success?  Companies like Precision Scale, Detail Associates, etc...  I need more MU Plugs made to detail with because my supply is drying up.  This is the plug for the 27 Pin MU Cable...see link and photo of my MTH Dash 8 I detailed a few years ago.  I would go as far as donating one of my plugs to make a mold from.  I've thought about making a mold myself out of one and making a bunch of them, but I'm not sure how to really go about doing it.  I'm not sure I really even want to get into all of that, but I will if I have too.  The supply of the Red MU Cable is endless, but not the plugs.  PSC already makes the Receptacle, which some of you are referring to as the "Female" end of it all.

Thoughts?

Where did you get them originally?

They were in a parts box when I inherited a brass collection.  Probably over 100 parts in the box, about 8 of those where in it loose, so I'm not sure who made them.  Oddly, they were some of the only plastic parts in the box.

I have a call in to PSC right now and I'm waiting on a return call.  I need to gauge an interest to see if anyone else would be interested in these for them to produce and possibly just add it to their product line rather than doing a custom casting for just myself.

Here's the type of material I use to make the hoses, although I bought mine locally at a bait shop and can't remember the brand, but you get the idea:

Diamond Scale OT 105.   Diamond Scale at one time was a very good, functional, TT that competed with early Bowser TT's   Bowser always had issues, but Diamond Scale TT kits if properly assembled were very good reliable TT's.  The Original Diamond Scale owner died several years ago, but some Diamond Scale TT's and  parts are still available.  I had used a lot of Diamond scale parts and their drive system for a semi-scratch built TT that was larger than this one.
They have in interesting, cast in place, hydrocal, pit wall.
Slideshow of the larger TT I built using Diamond Scale, Bowser, Atlas, Crow River, and other parts.  Main drive system is Diamond Scale.  A lot of the detail is either scratch built of Bowser.

Looks pretty neat with the wood railings ...
