There were, for several years, informal meetings on Thursday mornings in one of the Orange Hall conference rooms At York. Jim Policastro and others demonstrated various products and techniques for scenery, track planning, etc. I Thought these were great and were disappointed when they stopped.

I am am not sure if these were officially sponsored by OGRR or not. If whoever set this up is no longer interested I would consider giving it a try organizing a meeting if there is interest.

Anyone else interested in reviving this meeting please post here along with one or two topics you might be interested in learning about And we'll see if we can get something going again.

thanks!

Sounds like a great idea. I don't have firsthand knowledge of the original meetings but definitely think this sort of thing would still be useful. Two areas that immediately come to mind are scenery techniques for improved realism (this never gets old - it seems like there is always some better way out there) and use of technology around the layout. The latter topic is not covered nearly to the extent it could be judging by the many interesting posts I read here but rarely see covered in mainstream articles.
