WOW!!! That is spectacular. Entertaining, and it really makes a point, too!
Just brilliantly done.
I agree. What a great commercial. I just wish more kids played like that before they went to bed.
Always a good view. The commercial first aired August 2012.

Another good one Frank. I hadn't seen that one before.
K. C..... Great commercial! It is almost like Toy Story all over again! Creative and makes a point right from the beginning...no doubt as to what the real message is which so many commercials seem to lack today.

K.C. Jones, I read about the commercials in Trains Magazine. The bad publicity of trains cracking up in the 60's and 70's has largely disappeared - thankfully. The companies are worried about regulations and decided they aren't very visible to the general public so they are putting their best foot forward thru these commercials.
Thank you for posting, I had never seen one. They are super.....
Love this one
Norfolk Southern has become the leader in railroad TV commercials. This is a good example of just why.
Recently an insurance company (Harvard something) posted one about a little girl on the train platform. It was spectacular as well.
Kudos to NS!

Great commercial.
Hey Guys,
Watch it again...look real close at the toy box....then tell me what is ON the toy box!
Rick.

"Stickers"....no CB&Q though....

Oh, we do, all 4 marx twin light towers have to be on- room lights off!......and we recently replaced our dino crane with a regular crane..the dino kept eating some of the lego loads!!!...my son said "he was hungry after all that hard work"...makes sence I guess..
this is old news..........N S used this as their christmas greeting a few years ago. its just worded a little different at the end. really not much to go crazy over.-jim
NS continues to be a germane player in East Coast rail transportation - also a railroad with a great safety record!
I caught this one on the Marie Bartiromo show this morning. I really thought it was their newest commercial offering. I’m Sorry if this one keeps popping up like Miniatur Wunderland .
I forgot about the other two commercials…thanks for posting!!.
You’ve got to love any commercial that gets the "want to run my trains".. juices flowing..

Great commercials, very entertaining!!!
Trouble with the NS commercial is that it planted a terrible earworm for the original version in my mind (Which is far, far better BTW)

Both my boys do! I can't get them to stop playing with:
Legos
Trains
and
Reading books.
Age 6 and 3.
Thus far the #1 requested Christmas gift is Lego Trains.

Thank's Chris ! Now I can't get that song out of my head.
So which is worse in that Advil commercial? The fake pilot with no coupler gear? Or the grade-crossing signals that don't work?
Jon
It would appear that the actor in the Advil commercial, needs both a hearing aid, and
a much stronger product.

Its like a chain letter, the only way to break the spell is singing it out loud till two other people are involved. Me? I like the song, and just flow with it.
NS does "company image" right. That fantastic logo has burned its way thru my retinas, bounced around my empty skull, and ended up close to my heart.
Speaking as a consumer, there isn't anything that I liked about the Advil commercial. It would not motivate me to buy this product.

Green screen is wonderful...

Are there really people out there who would see the Advil commerical and go stand in front of a train?
If so, where would they find a steam engine?
I thought it was a pretty good commercial.
If you stand on a grade crossing and are killed by a train, your headache goes away.
Oh, it's a cute ad, "Stop pain in its tracks!" Good tag-line. Nothing I see or TV or screen has motivated me to buy anything since American Graffiti drove me to go out and get a yellow deuce coupe, but I enjoy a lot, like these two.

Looks like a "prop" locomotive, maybe from the ill-fated Lone Ranger movie.

Thank you very much K.C. for posting the Norfolk Southern commercial. I have seen the short version of this on TV for awhile. But this is my first time seeing the long version. This was one of my favorite commercials and the long version makes it even better. It is now saved on my You Tube favorites.
