During the 2014 NMRA Cleveland National Convention, the Operations road show group out of the Detroit area had their modular layout set up, and were holding timetable and train order operations on the railroad for convention participants. I was lucky enough to secure two slots on this railroad.
Their web site is:

A teaser photo from their web site:
The railroad is modeling a portion of the Wabash through Indiana. The primary purpose of this railroad is to promote awareness of proto-ops in the hobby, with a focus on timetable and train order operation. Prior to their session, they hold a 1/2 hour session explaining the time table, train orders, layout schematic, and draw straws for the train assignments for the session.
I had shot some photos with my digital camera of the track layout in various areas as thought starters for my own railroad. This layout is so incredibly well thought out that I hope you all take the time to visit their web site and see what this group is doing. They put in an incredible amount of effort bringing this layout to the national convention, and I am looking forward to operating on their railroad again at the NMRA 2016 convention in Indianapolis.
Regards,
Jerry
