Ordered My First Lionel Engine!

You should be happy. I have sd40-2 Norfolk souther and the sound is great. And you can run them on the same track with no problem at all I do good luck with your first Lionel and many more$$$$$

It sounds exciting!  I hope you get years of enjoyment from your new engine.  I have had no problems running a Legacy and DCS engine on the same track at the same time.  You can run the Legacy engine im TMCC mode from the DCS remote or you can run it in Legacy mode from the CAB-2 and a DCS engine on the DCS remote.  It works great!  Just don't do a Gomez Addams.

I have a pair of those. Both of mine had loose parts in the box (stairs and MU hoses). A friend of mine had the same issue, so this seems to be typical. Just open the box somewhere that you can find things if small parts dump out. It was an easy fix with some superglue. Apparently Lionel couldnt spare the glue when they built these things.

Once its whole, they run and sound great. Wish it had a plow... I'll probably fit one when I get a chance.
