I'm getting ready to detail my MTH R32 subway set and I found an interior I'm going to try my best to model. The question is what color (brush) paint would be the closest to the colors in the photo. Specifically, the walls, seating and ceiling colors. My goal is to get the models interior as close to this as I can.

Sounds good. Can't wait to see the final product.
There is no color chart for that, especially given the color shift evident in that photo. So take your best guess.

Will do. Thanks.
I should add that maybe someone on this forum might recall what the interior of those R-32 Brightliners looked like. I used to ride them until the mid-1970s, but I can’t recall the interior colors anymore.
Maybe @bluelinec4 does.
All the cars RK in my MTH fleet are fully done inside. It wasn’t easy finding NYC subway site interior photos to choose from. It seems there were 2 interior color schemes on many through the years. I thought Premier cars were already decorated inside?
You will have to check and paint 3 things. The doors, walls and seats. As for the floor tiles and ceilings on my cars, there was no point in decorating those parts as you can’t see them in the MTH cars anyway. You also might develop some ads, maps and signs as well. This project was a major task taking several weeks, quite boring I might say. Disassembly / assembly and everything else. I don’t believe they were worth all the time and effort but hey, there done.
I used the Apple Barrel 20751 regency blue and shy blue on most. Tan, red, yellow , cream, silver and greys were also needed depending on the car. MTH R-26? already had pink seats.
Good luck!

Nice work! Nope, the premier cars have no interior minus the molds for seats (which in this case have the door mechanism running across)
That's odd as my Premier R40 originals are fully detailed with fans, straps and people.
So with OPENING DOORZ, you will need to decorate (tile) the floor. Post it when done, should be cool!
Yup. I'm thinking I'm going to get a pattern that's on the subway cars and glue it to the floor. And for the paint, I guess my only choice is to take my best guess at it.
Here's some pictures of the interior from a Lionel R-26 Greenbird with the checkered tile file. The R-16 has a slightly different look. Can't validate the color choice Lionel use but does look good.

I have the R27s and I'm impressed by the interior especially for a factory job.
