Anyone out there built the Plastruct Truss Bridge kit? Better yet, has anyone built a two track wide and longer version of this bridge? If so, what was required, additional kits, additional components? Where there support issues once the bridge was enlarged? Any info is appreciated.

Presumably you are referring to Plastruct's O Scale Truss Kit, 3002. I built one 20 or so years ago and still use it. Mine is a stock construction and I can attest that it is a very rugged bridge. Mine fell from a shelf 7' above a wood floor and survived virtually unscathed; a few gusset plates and trim items needed to be reattached or replaced.
I suggest you phone Plastruct for particulars about widening or lengthening the bridge. I phoned them when I was unsure of what products to buy to fabricate replacement parts and requested a copy of the kit's plans which includes a BOM. The helpful lady at Plastruct mailed me a copy.
Another member built this bridge as a deck truss (?) and can supply information, but I don't recall his forum name.
FWIW, from looking at the plans for this kit, I believe it would not be difficult to widen and/or lengthen this bridge since the detailed drawings and BOM make it pretty straightforward to figuring out what is involved. But confirmation from Plastruct is preferable--they may even have additional plans or BOMs available for your purposes.

I built 2 of them but it took some time. Then I decided to ad rivets. I got a sheet of rivet decals from Archers and started to apply them. It took two sheets for each bridge. Price of the rivets almost equalled the price of each bridge kit but boy did it look good.

Dick, do you have any photos. I made mine not knowing about Archer rivet decals, so I used a simple nail/hammer combo to simulate them--nothing close to scale.
