Please Help with Lionel Backshop!!!

Hello, how can I test a Lionel Backshop with only a transformer to check out it's operational and functional condition?I do not have any TMCC stuff or a TIU and controller,and I need to test this thing out before I shell out my hard earned cash for it.Please Help

It works conventionally also. Be warned that the terminals are NOT marked correctly on the terminal board. Fallow the instruction manual hook up instructions.
