Does anyone know if there exists a diagram of the tender with the original PE whistle from 2004? Thank you in advance.

Air whistle wiring is very simple, you have 4 wires in the tender; Red, Black, Blue, white.
Red = center rail collector
black = chassis ground (outside rails)
blue = motor lead 1
white = motor lead 2
The whistole will not trigger if it receives a negative DC offset, it requires a positive DC offset to run the motor that spins the impeller and creates the whistle sound.

I am still electrically challenged. Is this why the PE tender will not whistle with my PW 1032 transformer no matter how I set the wires?
i have a problem with my pola tender whistle i check the wires look ok
i call lionel and told me to take the tall resistor off then re-connect the wire
it did not work i call them again my bord might short there send me a new one
i saw that the white wire was disconnected i resorted it still does not work
that should have done it this tender was new ?????????

On a postwar transformer with modern whistles, move the whistle handle ONLY HALF WAY. If no success, reverse the wires on the track. And also, the whistle will not work with the tender only, you must have the engine on the track with it or a lighted car, like a caboose.
