Thank you.
Here's an orange one . . .
The lads on my forum are saying they should have black brake hand wheels.
I've got no idea.
What do you think?
Cheers

Not green, but accurate too!
No idea for the brake wheel, sorry!
A bientôt

Thanks. They could end up any colour when I do the weathering.
I've just been having some fun shunting the two of them; using the remote uncouplers.
I'd better stop playing and get on with the other six.
Cheers
Me too! 9 freight cars are waiting for their weathering and they are not patient!!!
The next one ready for decals and weathering is a flat car with a load of pipes . . .
I still have to paint the strapping and the wooden bearers.
Here is is undressed, showing the gubbins wot works the couplers.
I think I'll slip some tube over the 1.0 mm brass rod I've used for the uprights.
They look a bit skinny to me.
Still decals and weathering to come.
Cheers

Very fine job as usual!
You can now install an amazing pipeline!!!
Ha Ha. Thank you.
WOW...what a True Lesson in building and imagination.
Your ideas dreams and finished work are outstanding..
Thanks, Brian.
I've finally got one finished!
The carriage has been weathered and glazed . . .
The other three need decals and weathering and I'm half way.
At least I can do some shunting while I'm building the box cars.

Pretty car and nice colours
I'm sure it's made for people who will build the pipeline... !!!!!

That's terrific! Nice soft interior lights, too. I'm curious, and pardon me if it was mentioned before, but what if any is your prototype? I see a Conrail engine in the background but the carriage looks like another time and place. Interesting side lights.
As always, thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Tomlinson Run RR
Thanks, guys.
The docks are at a fictional place called Port Elderley. The sailing ship is being restored by the Port Elderley Historical Society. The carriage has been restored by the Port Elderley Historic Railroad Society - hence the PEHRS on the side. Its decoder address is 14.
The Weaver GP 38-2 was bought by the Port Elderley Docks Authority second hand from Conrail. They haven't got around to painting out the name.
I haven't come up with a story to explain the presence of the L&N SDP 35 as yet . . .
Back to reality. The glazing is made from clear styrene sheet with tissue paper stuck to it with CA. Using HI golden white 1.8 mm LEDs behind it gives it the glow and saves me from the problem of hiding all of the electronics.
Each car has a 4 function decoder inside to operate the couplers. With the carriage, I thought that I would take advantage of the spare Auxiliaries to power the marker lamps and the inside lights. The Marker lamps are on Function 0 and change from front to rear when you press the Direction button.
It all helps to give more points during the AP assessment.
I'm glad that you're enjoying it.
This is a very informative, and fun to read, topic thread. Thanks.
I even get to learn new terms, like ...."faffing." lol
"Olpharts Crossing," ...... still makes me laugh.

Thanks, Matt.

Man on the buffer seems to be admiring!
Thanks. He obviously has good taste.
Certainly, and it shows!

These box cars come with a health warning for the lactose intolerant.
They are very cheesy.
I've beaten the rivet counters at their own game. Heh Heh.
There are no rivets.

It's really a good price!
No cheesy at all! I like those boxcars and their colors!
jp
Thanks, JP
So, seven of the eight have been dull coated and weathered.
Unfortunately, the weathering paint on the box car doesn't show too well in the photo.
The three at the back are waiting for the next shipment of muscle wire to arrive.
I'm finding that the Atlas trucks are binding, so I'm going to investigate while I'm waiting.

All in this photo is full of realistic details (the wharf with the old tires, the chains,...); very fine work!
Lacks a blue box car and the pipe line is not yet built!!
Very well done!
jp
Thank you JP.
Maybe I could paint the silver one blue.
Max,
Your work is fantastic. I love to look at the work you are doing.
Alan Graziano
Thanks, Alan.
Much appreciated.
While I'm waiting for the last shipment of muscle wire, I've extended the gauntlet tracks.
I've extended it by 14" (355 mm), as it was too short to line the couplers up when retrieving wagons.
It's encroached on the area where the shipwright's building was to go, but it can't be helped.
My next job is to build the mimic panel.
Cheers

Very neat as usual!

Thank you, JP.
There are no switches as the turnouts are controlled by DCC.
There will be magnets to indicate the locations the cars are to be in, for competitions; but that's all.

p.s. I know that it's voila. It's supposed to be Oz humour.
