Not paying attention to detail like I'm good for not doing, I went and ordered the repo machine gun set up for the back of military trucks I had and the radar dish set up after getting it all together and took pics for listing them on the bay did I notice holy cow these are not USMC trucks even thou they look like them these are Army vehicles so my question is who made these trucks ( the green ones ) DSCI1667DSCI1677

Has the same manufacture emblem inside the roof of the cab won't show up with my camera. Both have like a triangle with the word PYRO in it.

The olive colored trucks were made by Pyro and the stamp under roof will also have the words "made in USA", which is original issue from mid 1950's.  They were never reproduced after that.  The gray also should have "Made in USA" to differentiate from "repros", which will not have "made in USA" in the logo.

The reference to Geller Toy may be who is manufacturing the repro trucks, tanks, & extra parts.  If the logo does NOT have the "Made in USA", it is repro, and holds a far lesser value than an original.  They were issued in 1958 Military sets which if memory is correct, Set 1591 & 1595.  Set 1595 should be lead by the 1625 switcher, 6804, 6806, 6808 flatcars, 1625T (with Timken trucks), & 6017-85 gray caboose.  It is a premium set if all components & boxes are there.

Chuck is correct that back in the 1950's, you could buy the Pyro items in 5 & 10 stores, and toy stores.  Lionel decided to use them in Military sets as stated above.  The Olive trucks are considered Army, and the Gray trucks/DUKW/Tank were considered U.S.M.C. issue, even though the medical truck has Navy on the side.  The U.S. Marines are actually considered part of the Navy, and the logo on the medical truck door shows the Marine symbol.  As stated, if it doesn't have "Made in USA", it is a definite reproduction and not original.
