For video files that you have on your own computer, I'm pretty sure it works exactly like posting a regular photo from your computer. Have you tried that yet?
For YouTube videos, here's what worked for me:
In the Post Reply pop-up, under the text window on the right is a link called "Toggle WYSIWYG". Click that (once).
In a different browser window/tab, go to YouTube, and click the "Share" button under your video. Then click the "Embed" button that appears. The "iframe" code you need will automatically appear and already be highlighted in blue. Use Control-C to "copy" it.
Come back to your new post on OGR, and "paste" (Control-V) the "iframe" code right into the text box, and click "Submit Reply".
Sounds harder than it is. Just try it a few times, and it will become second-nature.
(Now, if we can just get YouTube to stop changing how you obtain the embed code...)
I managed to post photos OK, That was easy. I did the same with my video it seemed to work. but didn't, thats when I got the email saying I was in wrong format. Thanks for answering. I just received another email saying you answered my post.

I'm not seeing the videos or Jon's. In fact I get this email
Hello, superwarp1:
Unfortunately, we could not process the video that you recently uploaded. Here are the details:
Video Name:001.AVI
Please note that we only support the following video formats: .mp4, .mov, . flv, and .avi. Sometimes, even for videos in our supported formats, there are encoding issues that we simply cannot resolve.
We apologize for the inconvenience. We suggest trying to re-encode your video using our recommended format (MP4 using H.264 encoding, with AAC audio) prior to re-uploading the video on O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum.
Sincerely,
O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum
The video format issues are going to be somewhat common because there are a hundred different ways to compress and encode videos these days. I've run into the problem myself, trying to post a video from my computer.
The H.264 encoding process is VERY efficient (it's what You Tube uses) and yields a pretty good image.
