Just posted three posts on various threads, and nothing's there, like I never did them... Two were to the what'd you buy cool lately and the other was the thread on what had you done for your layout recently...
Replies sorted oldest to newest
Without URL's (links) I would have no idea where to look...
I re-posted them and they're both apparently there now. How odd that when I did them last night, everything worked like it should be the posts simply never got into the thread...
I have had similar things happen lately. nothing earth shattering, just weird. Unfortunately I do not have the thread addresses.
Had the same thing happened. Just dont want to be that annoying guy who posts twice the same thing.
Encountered the same issue a few days ago when posting to the Lionel 2017 "what would you like to see" thread. I KNOW I posted something there -- even included a photo of the real RockyMountaineer train. When I went back to look later, it was gone... and I thought, "WTF? Now why would the moderators delete that post?" So I posted it again about 20 minutes later. And if it got deleted again, I was gonna tell the moderators to go pound sand.
Well.. it turns out in this case my original post landed in the Sweeny Todd boxcar thread of all places, which I never even read. The only way I discovered it was from an email notification that somebody had "liked" the post. Otherwise I never would have seen it there.
So it's possible your "missing" post is out there somewhere -- randomly linked to a thread you haven't even read!!!

When in doubt...check your activity and you can usually find your posts. Before I get bothered that where I look. Then again if it's deleted, oh well. More important things to worry about.

I guess you "conform" to the moderator's authority better than I do. I usually don't like to waste my time looking for content I know I've posted here. I have no time for those mind games.
I looked at all my posts and the ones from yesterday are being read by Amelia Earhart and Jimmy Hoffa right now, it seems.
I posted the same info again a little bit ago and it's there now.
One of those quirks of a forum, I guess. I know that a mod didn't delete them as there'd been no time for that when I'd looked.
I guess it's all a conspiracy.
Yep, it's a conspiracy, all right. I have certain specific members that I follow 24/7 just to make sure their posts don't appear! (I should probably be more careful...there are some people who might actually believe that! )
On a more serious note, I'll bring this thread to the attention of the Hoopla Tech Support people. This sounds like a database index corruption issue.

What kills me is that I missed that. The on-screen guide didn't show X files on and I'd assumed it was the following Sunday.
I had no idea it'd aired until today.
Hawkings was right. Spooky.................

It's on again tonight.
Here's what I got from Hoopla Tech Support...

Hi Rich,
I took a look around in the logs for user p51 since he was the one originally reporting the issue. I see nothing out of the ordinary in the logs. In fact, he said he posted these replies yesterday/last night, but there is zero record on the server of him doing so. Whatever reply attempts he made yesterday never got to our servers. The first reply attempt that I can see was this morning around midnight Pacific.
Unfortunately there's not much to go off of here to identify the culprit of the issue, but based on what I've seen so far, it seems like it might be some kind of network issue or possibly client-side JavaScript issue that prevented the request from successfully getting to our servers. It's highly unlikely that everything would appear to be successful without some kind of error message, stuck page (e.g. on "Please Wait") or a page that fails to reload.
It would be helpful if the users having issues could provide more details about the problem the next time it happens, including any of the following:
- The URL of the page they were on when attempting to post
- Any confirmation or error message that appears after posting
- The URL of the page after attempting the post
- Screenshot of a page that has the issue
- Are there any errors in the Web Developer / JavaScript console?
As with any troubleshooting process, the more details that they are able to provide, the better! And if multiple users are able to provide details, that may also help identify commonalities in the process.
Thanks,
Brian

A case of operator error?

Sorry to disappoint you HW, but there was no operator error on my post. So I wouldn't be that quick to write this off. Your abrasive and unhelpful sarcasm around these parts far exceeds any expertise you provide here.
Rich, thx for passing along Hoopla's thoughts on this. I would have hoped the URL's I posted might have helped steer them to some logs for the date/times involved. But it was a few day ago now. So perhaps the trace is overwritten by now.
Definitely worth keeping an eye on, but I realize this might be a tricky gremlin to trouble-shoot.

Heck, it exceeds anyone's experience. Must be a heck of a burden to go through life being the all-seeing, all-knowing knowledge God of the universe and having to deal with mere mortals every day like that...
It's simple, you write the post and hit the big blue, "Post reply" button. Not a lot of other ways you can go that way, especially when the thread immediately changes to what it looked like before you posted at all.
That, and it happening to more than just one person in exactly the same way.
Odder still is that I was on the forum for a while during the timeframe Hoopla says I wasn't. Having gone through my profile/activity page to check on where the posts went also shows I was indeed logged on at the time.
Glitches happen, it's all good. I was just confused as it'd never happened before.
