Postwar 2321 Repair

Just purchsed a set of lenses/number boards (all one piece) for each end of my 2321 FM. They both fit into place but my question is do they suppose to snap in place or do they have to be glued in place? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Originals were usually glued in at the factory. But I'm sure this is not a hard and fast rule.
