Matt,

Neal is correct. IMO the helicopter flatcar is the key piece as it must be the proper USMC helicopter and not have a US Navy copter substituted for it. The windshield must be slightly yellowed from age and the tailfin has to have LIONEL molded into it. Otherwise it's a repro.

1. If you Google 1805 Lionel auction results, you will find a couple of previous auctions for your 1805.

2. Prices are declining, for example, I paid $800 for a nice complete 2527 military outfit approximately six years ago. Two months ago, I purchased a second 2527 in better condition for $525.

3. As Lionelman stated, reproductions abound, examine those items carefully.

4. Are you going to keep it, run it, or display it? Are you going to resell?

5. What is the size of this collection?

6. The final price for any 1805 depends upon multiple seller and buyer factors.

7. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. I will recheck these different things to look for. Judging by the situation around the collection, I think it is all original. But could be wrong. I need to find this out as it is making up a good chunk of the $5,500 she  wants for the collection. There are also GG1's, NYC F3's, GP's, a 350 transfer table, culvert loader and unloader and a LOAD of rolling stock and other accessories in original boxes. It's all in really nice shape. I finally got there to look at it yesterday.

Thanks,
Matt
