I have several Lionel Postwar F3's, the 2355, 2353 with screens, and a 2353 with louvers. All of the powered unit chassis are marked 2333-20. Can anyone explain this to me?
I believe the reason that the chassis' are like that is because all 3 of those engines have the same horizontal motor frame. It's easy to say that both the Santa Fe, including the 2353, and the Western Pacific, 2355, have almost identically painted frames as well. This might be another reason why those frames have identical part numbers.

Your 2353 and 2355 should have louvers, not screens. Are you sure they're not a 2343 and a
