Over this past weekend, I picked up a boxed postwar Lionel 464 saw mill. It was dirty, but otherwise in fairly decent shape with no broken railings, chips or cracks. All the boards / logs were missing. And the saw dust collector was detached from the roof, with the little pipe broken off where it is supposed to enter the roof. The while derrick was also missing.

Anyway, here is my question:

On the back of the lumber side, there is a fair sized glue mark coming from the spot where the roof support is glued to the grey base. It is the support closest to the house.
Before the days of the internet, I would have assumed that it was a sloppy home repair. But with the availability of the internet, I thought I would ask whether anybody else has a 464 lumber mill with similar glue marks.

The reason I think it might be sloppy factory work is because there are no other signs of tampering anywhere else on the piece, and other than the dirt, it is in nice shape.

By the way, the 464 has raised red lettering on the window. Due to previous experience with other samples of this item, I am fairly certain the red will wash off easily with water. And the white lettering on the door underneath may as well.
