Got home from work this afternoon and found the new hard copy Lionel catalogs from the LCCA in my mailbox! A great Friday afternoon surprise. I like the printed catalogs much better then the online versions.

my favorite part of the Lcca
The train shop I repair for got their hard copies Wednesday. I got mine in the mail Thursday.
I had no luck interpreting on line version, but my LHS, not so local, provided a hard copy, so l ordered a grain door box....Would have gotten another with more than one number available.
Oh how we miss Wild Bills Trains, I would have had the catalogs already.

Great Lakes Hobby had their hand out copies 3 days after the internet release. Try them next time.

They have them now but he charges for them. I could walk into Elmers and they were ready for me catalog's in hand.
Still waiting for my copy to come. But, for some reason my local Post Office is always behind the curve on these mailings.

If you buy anything train at the store just once and ask for a catalog, they are usually free.

I prefer the hard copies, too, and my copies came a few days ago. Being able to sit in an easy chair and leisurely read the catalogs is so much easier than trying to view them on line, that is if I can even get them to open.
But in reading the hard copies I found a few blatant typos that I didn’t see when trying to read the on-line versions. Two examples:
· Ready To Run Catalog, page 3 in the Lion Chief paragraph: “….you supply power to your train layout by simply plugging the included power pack into a DC wall outlet ……”. (Good luck finding a DC wall outlet!)
· Signature Catalog, page 95 in the side text accompanying the images of the Ice Cars: “Dumps coal at the touch of a button” (they copied without changing the text accompanying the coal dump cars at the top of that page)
· the big “L” logo on the R-T-R catalog cover with the scratched-up orange background? I thought it was just on my hard copy but it’s on the on-line images as well.
There may be others. I guess they’re too busy to proofread the proof copy the printer sends back.

I was happy to receive my 4 pack of catalogs in THU's mail. Like others, I enjoy looking through the catalogs in-hand. I did not view the online versions because the process is awkward and does not provide the same view or satisfaction as it does in-hand.
There always seem to be typos and examples of creative artwork in the major modern catalogs. Lionel should be praised for some of their very attractive car designs and personalized options (take note MTH). What surprised me was that there was no Legacy systems or related add-ons listed in the back power/control sections. I also liked Lionel's use of Bluetooth but felt they gave a possibly confusing presentation because some lion chief are advertised with BT but other LC/LC+ did not have BT.
Just got my printed Lionel catalogues; such a pleasure compared to sitting here and looking online. I cruise the catalogue online when it comes out, but only once or twice, then I wait for the paper. I buy "only from the paper."
I get them directly from Lionel, not sure why....unless it's because I have been in the LCCA since the early 90's...which may change because I did not re-up this year. Nothing wrong with the LCCA, but I was getting nothing much out of it (and I am still in the TCA), so my free catalogues may stop. I don't know.
(The LCCA is just fine; went to a couple of conventions (Dearborn/Detroit - toured the factory, when there was one - and Philadelphia); enjoyed it. But, it's a club that's really, to a large degree, for "grand dad and the grand kids"; not a thing wrong with that, but as I am not the former and have none of the latter, it has become less and less relevant for me.)
I may have to get my catalogues elsewhere (actually, Ro sends me one, too, as I recall).
Picked up my catalogs today at Hennings! Always fun visiting the store too!
Second set will likely come in the mail from Charlie Ro in a few weeks.

Maybe I will get one by next month via Charlie RO.

You need a hobby. I hear model trains are pretty fun.
I received my catalogs yesterday from the LCCA.

Got mine as well, lots of wonderfull trains. Just wish Lionel would start making thier Large Scale line again(not the toy stuff they do now). That would gain my dollers again, for now I chase down the older models I couldn't afford when they were new. I cannot afford to support both G and O gauge(wish I could though!). Mike
Got my LCCA package Friday. I usually end up with three sets. Charles Ro and another dealer.
Agree with others on value of the hard copies. I always see something I've missed when reading it online.
