I recently purchased an MTH Tinplate #10 Christmas Express prototype engine. It loads into the remote fine, and all of the sounds works, However, the #10 or Engine Descriptions does not appear on remote. I have heard there is a way to add all of this in, and combed Barry's Book trying to find out where the instructions are, but cannot locate it. Can anyone help?

The other that I noticed, when changing direction into revearse, the rear lamp is not as bright as the opposite. I asked MTH if this meant that it had a bad board, poor ground, or wrong voltage bulb, and the tech said not necessarily. Not really sure what else it could be?

Train Lover the bulb may be different because of being a prototype.  Unscrew the bulb and see if you see a different voltage marking.  The easy thing to do is swap the bulbs and see if the dim one follows the bulb.

It may be that some one used a 12V vice 6V bulb.

If there is a tech in your area he/she can load the serial data to give you a permanent name.

I worked on a prototype recently and it did not have a name either.   G

Yes, that's correct.

Now that is interesting!  It is not how I previously understood it.  I am going to have to try it.
