I am getting closer to getting the diesel service area completed.  I lack some of the details like the concrete platforms between tracks and of course the weather of the structures, etc.  I chose older structures instead of more modern because I wanted to be able to go back in time with older diesels and as we all know there are many older diesel maintenance buildings that survive to this day that are currently being used.  The transfer table is of course 5 Lionel tables.  I decided to use both transfer bridges even though I am willing to bet that is not prototypical....but it does add interest!!  I am considering painting the tables a concrete color or just covering them with ballast...??  I am posting a variety of pictures I took this morning and invite comments...especially suggestions as far as the detailing process...  Hope you enjoy!!  If you right click on a picture and then click on "open link in new window", you will get a full page view showing the details....

Thanks,
Alan

David...the piping to the air tank on the roof is coming from inside the structure through the roof and into the bottom of the tank.....OK, I thought it sounded good anyway....

Thanks,

Alan

Hi Pat...good to hear from you and thanks for the nice comments!  My favorite floodlights are the MTH models.  I also like the old Marx floods.  I have a couple of the old postwar Lionel models that have the single searchlight type light on top of the tower.  I believe those were originally came with a morse code-like transmitter which allowed one to tap the button which would make the light flash.
