the Lionel mountains I've seen on eBay are usually the tunnels. If I remember correctly, they had a few of those for sale in the late 40s - mid 50s catalogs.
I really like that D-132! I have to find a track plan!

Any one have plans or more info on the D-132??? It looks like it would be cool to recreate. THX
I'd be interested in seeing the full D-132 track plan too. Looks interesting. has my eye now, lol!
I have pics and suspected track plan for a D-132 here.
I didn't want to derail Kevin's post about his own terrific layout here! Would like to see the track plan for that too ...

Gentlemen,
Having grown up with these kind of layouts you guys are giving me memory flash backs that are just incredible. These are the kind of layouts my father and his crew
who ran the Swissivale Boys Club set up for us in the old Washington Theather, which was our Boys Club meeting house, home when times were tough and many of the boys had nothing. Great 50's - 60's Lionel Conventional running layouts that
instilled imagination for young engineers. I appreciate seeing these layouts again very very much.

Props go to Kevin for turning back time with this layout. Also not meaning to derail the original post. I'm in the planning stages of something along these lines & love the ideas. In today's world w/ Hi Rail & scale layouts becoming more common, you don't see these as much. It leaves a lot to the imagination to fill in the blanks, which is what Lionel was all about back then
I was just thinking about this layout. lol
Kevin, do you have any updated pics on it? Love to see the progress since the last pics were posted
Although I did not get into model trains until 1975 ,I think my best memories are seeing layouts just like these modeled on the 50's-60's era, that older fellow modelers had from their childhood ,great job on the layouts
I was looking back on the post & since then I finished my postwar display layout. A big thanks goes out to you for giving me some inspiration
Very nice Christopher!!!
