Greetings all!
I just purchased the following locomotive on Letgo for $140.00.

It looks great and runs but the Protosound 2.0 is full of static.
Any input as to what might be the problem would be greatly appreciated.

You most likely need a new speaker. Check it for flaking around the magnet.
Change the battery too.
Joe is correct. That is a 5volt board. You need a new speaker. I would strongly suggest looking at the battery like Joe stated. If it is white, throw it away and use a new MTH green battery or BCR. If you use a BCR, buy a new one and don't mess with an old one. I am constantly replacing those speakers and keep them stock piled.
