Time to put this S2 up on the auction block!…..this is where we’ll stop,….let these pics stand as the official builder’s photos, …….the only thing we did not add as requested by you folks, were the add on second set of smoke deflectors, …..maybe the next owner can commission me to fabricate them at a later date, ….So the final details we did: the original smoke deflectors were scratched and chipped pretty good, so a fresh coat of PRR green got them looking like jewelry, …second, we added the deck plate, and lastly, I couldn’t stand the shine this engine had, so off came the shells one more time, they were lightly scuffed, washed, and then treated to a nice satin coat of SEM satin clear, …..this is a urethane coating, that will give years of durability, …..thanks to all who participated in ideas, ….99% of what was requested was added!…..so that’s a a pretty high yield! ……next time you’ll see our star, will be on the for sale forum! …..thanks again for those that participated, and lent their expertise!…..we’ll do this again!!….

So the S2 was a lot of fun!…probably the best part of the whole adventure was interacting with everyone on the thread with ideas, suggestions, and making the model just that much better, and accurate,……as you fellas can see, we had 8 pages of discussion, planning & executions, ……..for the future, we’ll work on models that we’re likely never to see in 3 rail O, given the current state of the way things are,…..so the opportunity to own something unique, and well built will carry on!…..we’ll touch every railroad at some point, not just necessarily the great PRR, …..BUUUUUUT, …..looking at the current inventory of projects, I forgot I had this little gem, …..this Weaver class C1 0-8-0 came to me as paint basket case, missing it’s tender, and void of all electronics, ….I had forgotten I had done the repaint work, ….so this little gem will be our next star!….but naturally, I’ll start a new thread for this guy,…..after I get some repairs, & customs out the way first!…but just wanted to let y’all know this series will go on,….9F60A210-04EA-4939-BC04-7BCC8000C41A5AEE66D6-B23B-4263-B70D-13D766D0CC0B

I couldn't agree more Pat. This was probably one of the best community projects undertaken. Granted, there are a ton of community projects undertaken everyday here on the forum. I can attest to seeing GRJ comment on a lot of topics involving electronic issues, as well as quite a few number of people on that as well as a whole bunch of others including you too. Heck, I think if I were to name everyone I ever saw pop into a topic to assist, I don't think I would stop typing. Needless to say, everyone did a great job helping out on this project, from wheels to smoke box.

Well, that next one looks interesting. I don't know nothing about a C1 0-8-0, but I'll watch with interest. Today is Easter of course, not going out at all today. Cooking ham for dinner with pineapple slices on top just like mom used to make. I would normally be over at my sister's, but she is a little late with if she was doing Easter on that, plus she is cooking lasagna, which I have had a weeks worth.

Happy Easter all, or whatever Holiday you are undertaking.

Same here Dave, ….getting ready to do a spiral cut, honey glazed ham with pineapple slices, cherries, orange marmalade, and of course, a thick honey, brown sugar glaze, ….it’ll go in the oven at 200 and just slowly warm all the live long day!…..Ms.Tammy is making homemade potato salad, homemade mac-n-cheese, and a bunch of other goodies, ….should be a good feast!…and yes, happy Easter to those that celebrate it, and happy holidays to everyone else’s faith, & well being, …..there’s room on this ball we call earth for all!…

Pat, this was a great thread to follow even though I had zero input.  Can't wait for that 0-8-0 thread.

It's turkey breast for me and the Mrs. today.

Dave are sure the lasagna isn't just the first course.  That's how it was in my family.  No matter what the holiday, lasagna first,  main course about an hour later.  Never can have too much lasagna!

OOPS! Forgot to wish all who celebrate it a Happy Easter.

My family has almost always had a ham for Easter Joe. I can only count a few times on one hand that it wasn't. Turkey was one of the go to's, I don't remember what the other one's were. My sister has been declared as the Lasagna Queen by her boyfriend's coworkers and boss. I don't remember what the occasion had been, but she made a lasagna to die for I guess you could say. I have had it before, and yeah, it is dang great. I don't believe I have ever had a multi course meal, although I have always gone back for seconds in the past.

I look forward to this one, I might just take a second look when it comes up for sale.

Coach, Scott, Dave & John, …thanks for all the kind compliments, …I really enjoyed doing this with everyone’s inputs, big thanks to John, his motion board not only did the trick, but it really helped in the fuel economy dept. as well, ……before installing that, she was a heavy drinker!…..the smoke poured out of this thing!…..now with John’s board, and string of diodes, it’s very tolerable!….we’ll have some fun with the little Weaver switcher, …..behind the scenes, my usual partners in crime have already set the ground work,….so some neat features are in store!
