Hi Bill,

These are a really nice set of Both powered A's and both have sounds. They are the JLC, or Vision Line trains that should have been the standard for future produced units but never were.

Each unit has a unique horn, unique sounds, smoke units and are really good pullers.

They do not have the jack rabbit starts that some of the earlier TMCC units are plagued with.

I really like the details, and I was easily able to add Kadee couplers to make them close couple.

There was a thread on here to lower them with ease to eliminate the pilot gap.

But I have not done that yet.

ADDED:  I see J Daddy beat me to it.

This was a Century Club II set and what sets it apart from nearly all other Lionel AA sets is that both units are powered and both have smoke.  I also believe both have sound, but you cannot determine that from their catalog description.  However, there were earlier forum posts that did say both units had sound.  They are great looking units.

can`t wait to get them,as I understand it they were delivered in lash up mode ID TR 9.

I hope that`s true so I don`t have to do that.I downloaded the manual from the Lionel website and that`s what it says.We shall see.

If they are like the Century Club II Fairbanks Morse Trainmaster Demonstrators, one is designed to always start in reverse! That is a great deal for you.

Get familiar with programming them, you will not be disappointing. I have mine under the same cab number and both horns go off at different tones and it sounds really cool. The crew cab talk is different too.

The Fairbanks Morse TrainMasters Demonstrators are also a must have. I really like the operating spinning fans. I bought a set on the Bay cheap $300.00, When I ran them a bit I found that the bands tend to stretch or bind the gear assembly. Too loose and the bands stretch, too tight the fan regulator boards burn out.

I can replace the boards but the rubber bands are unavailable!
