 You can't handle the truth!!!

Wow, these wires are tiny. I took a RK steamer apart and wanted to upgrade my MTH PS1 two rail Allegheny with the boards. I had to get a bigger amp boiler board to handle this big motor. Handling each step of the upgrade is a challenge so far. I also upgrading to the wireless drawbar/ tether and that requires some cutting and filing, I'll tell you.

I figured that I would just unhook the old PS1 boiler board that controlled all the extra boiler lights like firebox, cab light, even the smoke. I wish I had a wiring diagram to make better use of the new boards but I don't.  There's a lot of capability going to waste now. Someday I'll go back inside and rewire these lights while upgrading them to LEDs. For now, I just started with the headlight conversion to LED. I must have broke the RK stock one trying to fit it inside, so I replaced it with my own.

I was wondering if anyone has got into a PS3 steamer yet and found where the wires go?(made a wiring diagram?)

All I have is the headlight, smoke fan, smoke elements, motor wires, and tach. Got to be 26 open slots???

No board photo, but here's a pinout for the #30-1566-1  4-6-0 tender 20 pin connector.  I was looking for a tender backup light tap.

These connector pin numbers are not necessarily the MTH pin numbers.  Please see diagram on next page.

Thank you for the diagram. It's what I have hooked up so far from my Railking engine also. I'm looking at the boiler board for more connections. It has many more.

We need to get inside a Premier and fill in the rest of the wires identity. I sent an email to MTH. I took apart a diesel PS3 and with one board doing the job, I feel that it would not correspond correctly to this steam wiring. I don't have a Premier steamer with PS3 yet.

Might be a good time to get one!

I thought it was interesting that at the end of the upload, it added an extra that was labeled something like HO code (flash code ....?)

G, with so many more wires, there must be many more function outputs? It would be cool if they made some type of standard to follow for steam and diesel. I know that PS2 light's designations (functions), seemed to change over the years. I can load up an older soundset and watch the number boards flash like mars lights for ex.

I emailed Midge to see if I can get a wired harness. Maybe I could play on the bench to see what works?

I had to mill out the engine and the tender to make room for the drawbar. After doing all that, I had to mill down an area under the motor. It was the only place to fit the large boiler board. I tucked part of it under.

I don't think I could add any wires directly without a harness anymore. These new board's traces are tiny and even hidden. I can't see U guys making the older PS2 type repairs very easy, like you've posted.
