So, after setting up Variable voltage 1 on the TIU and using a PS1 engine, I find that my horn will continuosly sound without even pressing the horn button as I increase voltage, same goes for Conventional engines with a horn. Any Suggestions?

What is your source of power for VAR 1? Shift to VAR2 and see if the problem follows? G
My power source for Var 1 is a z-500. The problem is consistent with var 2 as well
You got to get rid of the Z controller and use only the brick as the controller chops the Sine Wave form as does the Variable channel. Chopping the wave twice won't run your engine well.
Concur:-) Do you have a PW transformer like a1033 to use as a test? G
No, but I do have some older tech II transformers that I could try. I'll try it out when I get home. I have a lot of bricks so this shouldn't be an issue. I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get back tonight.
IMO, you should never feed the TIU with one of the electronic controllers, just use the bare MTH brick.
I must have missed it....I never saw where he said he used the controller, only the Z500. It is possible he has just the brick plugged into the input, and still has a problem.
Since we have not hear back from him, perhaps that was his problem after all and he solved it.

That was merely a educated guess on my part in the absence of any information to the contrary.

Greg,
The continuously blowing horn without using the horn button is usually a sure sign of too much chopped Sine Wave for PS engines.
Everything is in working order now. All bricks are fed and no issues are apparent. Thanks!
Was using the bare brick the solution?
Indeed it was.
Nice diagnostics Joe and John.
The forum is great for just such as this.
