PS2 3V installation

What were they powered by with the 5V board?  The 3V and the 5V board both used the 6V bulbs for lights.

 

If you swapped over the black connector from the 5V board and installed inplace of the white ones on the 3V board you would retain your original harness and just plug them into the 3V board.

 

You need to go to the 4 ohm speaker and the 2.4V battery with proper charging harness.  G

 

 

Thanks for the tip. The power comes from a 12 pin connector and a 8 pin connector. I powered it up with a 6V transformer and traced the wires. Now pulling low amps.

Since there is no CV board and it is powered via the 12/8 pin connector, I would swap black connectors as I mentioned and just plug into the new 3V board.  Just remember to swap out the battery harness to the new 2.4V harness and 2.4V battery and install the new 4 ohm speaker.  Load the u[pgrade sound file and you should be good to go.  G

I have found that the PS2 5V plugs do not fit the 3V board. The key in the 5V plug is wider than the 3V socket. That being said, are you saying that functions of the 3V board are identical wire for wire and plug for plug with the 5V board?

I think what G meant was to slide the white sockets off of your 3v board and replace them with the black ones from your old 5v board.  Then just plug your old harness into the new board.  You will also have to make a new mounting plate.
