I am trying to put my IR SensorTrack into Record Mode 2.  According to the owner's manual you should press the "Record" button and the "Program" LED will start to blink slowly.  I think that is a typo.  The "Record" LED is what actually starts blinking.

Then it says to press the SET button on your Cab remote and the "Program" LED will flicker.  This is the weird part.  No where in the owner's manual does it say if you need to have your Cab remote addressed to the given IR SensorTrack when you press SET.  If I press SET while my Cab-2 is addressed to my IR SensorTrack, nothing happens.  The "Program" LED does not flicker.  However, when I have an Engine, Train or Switch addressed with my Cab-2 and press the SET button, the "Program" LED flickers.

I have included the steps from the owner's manual below.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?  How do you get your IR SensorTracks into Record Mode 2.

To make a Mode 2 user recording:
1. Press the SensorTrack Record button.
2. The program LED will blink slowly indicating “record ready” mode. Release the button.
3. Press the SET button on your remote. The Program LED will flicker. The next passing
Engine or Train ID will be the ONLY one that will trigger the playback of the recording
we’re about to create.

It's true that the RECORD LED flashes after pressing RECORD button.

The instructions don't say anything about having the CAB2 addressed to the sensor track...it just says to press SET (my CAB2 is still on ENG and addressed to the engine I want to use) and seeing the PROGRAM LED flash. Which it does. Then you just do the recording with the engine desired.

I get the single bell when the engine passes over the sensor track and the double bell when I press the RECORD button a second time. And it works when I try it.
