I noticed that the new air whistles don't have a coiled relay but a small electronic replay. I would like to know if it would be possible to use this small electronic one in my PW F-3 so I don't have to use a battery to sound the horn. If anyone knows if this is a possibility please let me know.

You would also have to make a 1.5 volt power supply for the horn. The battery sounds the horn and the relay tells it when to sound the horn.
A few times I have been tempted to make a battery shaped unit that could compliment (or replace) the horn relay and replace the battery (no leaks!).
I put an inexpensive Chinese step-down card in my F3 to eliminate the battery. In my case I stuck the horn and regulator in the non-powered unit. I added enough circuitry to interface the regulator's shutdown pin to the ERR conversion.
