Question running with remote tethered

We are running with 2TIU's running as a super TIU. I'm trying to T/S what the operators say is a reception issue between the handhelds and the tiu. We tried to run a 2 engine lash up that was having so called reception issues. When we tethered the remote it wouldn't operate the 2 as a lash up. Are there any issues with running a super tiu from a tethered remote? Thanks, Dave

When tethered the Remote only talks to the TIU it's tethered to.
