Hi All,
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I actually had a quick question and was wondering if anyone could shed some color.
I recently acquired an MTH Premier SD70ACe in Penn Central livery (non-powered unit with illumination features). It is a gem in terms of detail and appearance, I'd fancy to say that the MTH Premier Line SD70ACe's are superior to Lionel's versions (this coming from a Lionel-guy). I am very happy with the purchase and will certainly be adding more MTH motive power in the future.
My question is in regards to the illumination features on the dummy unit, specifically the head and cab lights. Today, after a running session, I powered down my engines and killed track power by switching power off my 180-Brick (as always). Interestingly enough, the headlight and cab light on the MTH unit remained illuminated for a few minutes. Is this normal?? Is there some type of battery and or charge mechanism that stores power for the lights in the unit? I even went so far as removing from the track and the lights remained on...
This is my first MTH unit, hence the questioning...not entirely sure if this is the norm or not. Thanks guys!!
Video below....6 Engine Consist (MTH Unit is the second one behind Lionel's SD70ACe). Hope you all enjoy and have a great weekend!!!!

My layout control and power is all compliments of Lionel (180 Brick, powermaster, Legacy Cab-1L base and remote).
