Captain Kangaroo was a really hip dude by comparison. And we had the Three Stooges for serious entertainment on Saturday mornings in the 1960's. Lionel missed the boat.

Never got used to the "Captain." Maybe it was the 1960's or the 1970's, in the New York Metro area, I remember my dad would pick up burgers and we watched the Bowery Boys! Nice that TCM airs them on Saturday mornings nowadays.
