One of my fond memories of growing up in the Pacific Northwest was the children’s shows that were on local TV during the 1950s and 1960s. Seattle had J.P. Patches, Stan Boreson and Captain Puget. Those were very entertaining shows, but Tacoma had the best: Brakeman Bill! The Tacoma News Tribune had a nice tribute to Bill McLain, the man who was in front of the camera from 1955 to 1975. Here is a link to the article with a great picture of his layout. Typically, when it was time to show a cartoon, the Santa Fe F-3 would be seen going around the layout and then disappearing into the tunnel. The Layout looks like it’s a Lionel made display layout, but not one that was offered to stores. I have attached two pictures.
I have to think there were other children’s shows with a similar theme.

All the best, Dave
Note: The layout may be a Lionel D-147, with an extension added in the front.
