Was quite surprised to see this, and, was even more surprised that it hadn’t been painted over. PRR’s been out of business for over 50 years. Spans Bladensburg Road NE in DC.

That's pretty awesome! I would have been excited to find something like that!
That's pretty neat to still see "Pennsylvania Railroad" after all these years on the side of that plate-girder bridge (it's not actually a 'trestle,' which consists of bents and horizontal stringers).
Nice to see original PRR stuff is still out there! Thanks for posting!
Gotta love the Pennsy, Mark. Unfortunately the PRR didn’t run through my corner of Pennsylvania, but we do have some trestles from the Erie (among others). The first is up in Shohola, PA…
And the second is just up the road from Gryzboski’s in Moosic, PA…

These are awesome! I never thought to keep an eye out but I sure will now. The wife and I love this sort of roadtrip: grab some snacks and go on a road trip to search for this sort of thing. It's cheap, it's fun, and it's low stress.
I have found old rail bridges and structures littered in the small towns between Youngstown and Pittsburgh but never paid enough attention to see if any road names are on them.
