Debating on whether to purchase a 2332 GG1 but the engine is missing the small insulators and the panographs. Can anyone tell me if it is very difficult to replace them?
the insulator's are easy to find, and easy to replace. the pantographs just snap on a little stud that sticks ontop of the shell, they are easy to remove, easy to lose. i think the 2332 had while insulators and the later lionel GG1's had black. i could be wrong on that though.
i think the 2332 is a must have in any GG1 collection.

I think you are really asking if it's difficult to find the replacement parts. The answer to that is "no". Most Lionel parts dealers should have them. As others have already mentioned, they just snap in place.
If you are interested, I have two pantographs and 2 packs of 4 insulators, I think they are MPC era, and don't know if they are any different in appearance. Contact me off forum by email. Thanks!
