I have the full set of these C&O aluminum passenger cars, and would like to change it from a regular lightbulb into a led or something more constant. They dont really flicker, but I would like to have better whole-car lightning, like the kind you get from Kato lightbar kits. Do we have a lightbar kit or something similar that I can replace the regular lightbulb with?

This link at Henning's Trains has a two car led kit that works well.

Erik, this is not a 3-rail scale piece thus does not belong in the 3-rail scale forum. Since it is a traditionally sized passenger car but is a modern piece, we are moving this topic to the Lionel general topics forum.
Sorry for wrong foruming, thank you for moving!
The Hennings kit looks great! Does it require soldering or anything? I am guessing probably.
I went with LED light strips for my 15" Lionel aluminum passenger cars. And continue to use them.
But I recently discovered LIONEL's lamp panels used in premium aluminum cars in 2000 or so. Here's a photo of a UP "Chatham" coach that uses the light panel:
Here's the page from LIONEL's website for the Chatham parts which includes photos of the parts you'd need. The parts you are interested in are the "lamp panel PCB" and "lamp panel supports." The supports slip onto the channel in the extrusion's ceiling and the panels snap onto them. You will also want the 2-pin light harness listed there as well because it plugs into the lamp panel to provide the electrical circuit from the rails. LIONEL will be running their 50% off parts sale in September, so you could save some $$$ there.
I'd still recommend the LED strips, but LIONEL did provide a much better alternative to the two bulb PW style.

Actually, the kit at Henning's is designed not to require soldering, that's the whole idea!
