I have a 312 SIT (smoke in tender) K-5 that needs a replacement piece of tubing. I've looked online at parts dealers and the price ranges from a couple bucks with $7 shipping to $6.99/$7.99 plus approximately $3 shipping. I get the feeling there's got to be something like aquarium tubing that can be purchased in bulk for far less than 9 or 10 dollars. What's the internal diameter of the tubing Flyer used, and has anyone found a good source for it?

The Flyer tubing for the SIT is quite flexible, and I doubt that you will fine anything close to it's suppleness. Too stiff of tubing will derail the tender. Good luck in your search and let us know if you have been successful.
You can measure the external diameter of the metal tube sticking out of the tender. The I.D. of the flexible tubing should be slightly less.
Port line hobbies. $ 2.00. Replaced a lot of em
I don't need any Flyer parts besides the tube, and minimum postage is $7 - that's 9 bucks for a 10" length of tubing.

The engine's buried in a tub out in a shed in the backyard - I was hoping someone had sourced some tubing and could let me know where they purchased it.
I have used aquarium tubing purchased at Petco for $4.99 for 3 to 4 feet.Be aware that original Flyer tubing is made of rubber and this is plastic.I have had no derailing problems but it is indeed not as flexible.....
