There is no "reset" for a Legacy locomotive to operate in conventional mode. It should just work.

Ok, thanks..I know there’s one for MTH engines in conventional nd thought there was something the same for Lionel.
Yes, there is a factory reset for MTH in conventional mode, and it's NOT the same as a factory reset in command mode. Lionel has no such need or capability.
