MTH Railking H10-44 diesel engine, at times, takes off on it's own. It seems to take off when there is a short on one of my 3 separate TIU loops that are blocked off with 3 separate bricks. The TIU is powered by a fourth brick.

My question is; when the runaway happens, I hit the red emergency stop button on the DCS and that stops all action, everywhere on the layout. Is this enough to ensure that all power is actually turned off to every track? I'm not worried about the few shorts that I'm experiencing, now and then, because this is a temporary layout set up. I just want to know IF the red button, (emergency stop), is the equivalent to pulling the plug out of wall, ensuring that all power is off?

Cheryl, thank you for your quick response to my question. I read this statement in the DCS Companion and I pretty-much felt that all power is removed from the tracks, but was worried that if the TIU were still receiving power, could that power (still) somehow transfer to the runaway, or any other, engines on the tracks? I'm probably being overly cautious about this, but if one of my Big Boy engines should fly off the tracks, without a full-proof way of avoiding this event, it could cost dearly. All the best to you Cheryl and thanks again, Lou
