Running my first ever LGB RhB Consist

The next thing that I’m going to do is start populating the cars with people along with painting the kitchen of the Restaurant Car.

Wow , Kevin, that is so cool'.  G scale is fun.  Those are great layouts to run our stuff on.. Very nice.  Enjoy your G scale'...'😄

The club (Florida Citrus Model Train Society) has modular HO, O, and G layouts as we travel around Broward County at difference locations for stints of 3 months or more.  For the base level of the G layout, the tracks are laid directly on the wood.  They built up the ballast channels and placed the tracks inside.

Thank you Ted.  Glad to see you and Mark Boyce were among the first to welcome me back to fold.

Technically, I never really left though, just always lurking but never posting.

If you notice in the second video, the inside 2 tracks of the 5 tracks on that elevated layout are O gauge, so I will run my O trains outside in the elements there too, but sparingly.

The RhB is probably my favorite railroad.  I wish it were easily available in O scale!

Congrats on getting the materials; I have no space anywhere to run anything in G scale but if I did, I'd be collecting LGB RhB every season!

Welcome back Kevin. Do you still have the ceiling layout? I recall that you were contemplating a move......

Kevin, first I’m glad you are posting again, although there is nothing wrong with lurking!  😃

Second the RhB set is really nice looking and running! 😃

Third, those are great looking layouts, indoors and outdoors! 👍🏻

Fantastic, nothing like outdoor trains! As for the other group forget them, here all things are equal and all scales are welcome!

I took down the ceiling layout in the Summer of 2022 when we moved to our current house.  It was a blast while I had it.  At least I can never say that I didn't try to build one.

Real nice G setup. I do not have a G layout but my club does. I just ordered  an 0x6x0 docksider from Charles Ro.

I picked up a New Haven woodside caboose from one of my members today

Kevin: I’ve always been an O scale guy and am not too familiar with G scale, other than a few G scale trains I’ve seen running along the upper walls of some businesses.

But your G scale trains are impressive and look fantastic!

Don, I don't have a layout either (O or G).  That's one of the benefits of being in a club that does have those to use.
