Hi guys, I purchased an S-2 off ebay.  It was an estate sale from the Previous owner's son (Who isn't a train guy)

He said that his dad had upgraded it to PS3, but It's clearly a PS2 system. PS2 Freight sticker on the bottom, blue 2-AA battery in the tender, charging jack on the bottom and two small pots next to each other 1 for sound volume, 1 for smoke.

Thing is, after going through all the S-2 manuals on the MTH website, this looks to me like it's an Imperial engine with the darker paint scheme, detailed builders plate, marker lights, LED lighting, chains on the tender.  Did MTH do a run of Imperials with PS2?  I'm just trying to figure out what I have.  (I don't have DCS yet, just conventional)

(I tried uploading pictures, but my camera isn't cooperating tonight.)

Yes, what you are seeing happens occasionally and is fairly common.  They sometimes use older photos (the original PS1 version did not have the oiler linkage).  They will also sometimes cut and paste descriptions from other engines with the same operating electronics package and not update some things that might have changed as the electronics and setups evolved over time.
