Tried using the Lionel app with my Samsung  android tablet and it would not work. Total bummer as I had the large screen monitor wired to my tablet to show the camera caboose in action at a train show. The app worked perfect on my IPhone 5 and other IPhones. We were using a friend's Santa Fe version and the picture was quite clear while I read here folks were getting blurry images.

Any reason why the App would just be blank? It opened with the train track and then went to another screen. The wifi was on with the tablet as it saw the caboose but would not display any action.

I hope it is a simple fix as I ordered it to use with the large monitor screen at shows with this tablet. If not, going to cancel the order when the UP is shipped.

Thank you,

Ted

John,

I have a Samsung model SM-T810 which is about 3 years old. Me too, I hope the app works with it or it is cancellation. It opens the app, you see the train track, but then it goes to another white screen asking you to do a few things.

This is all I got yesterday. Extremely disappointed as I had a large monitor wired to the tablet. It would have been a crowd pleaser to watch the train loop around the layout at a public event we did.

I hope someone here or at Lionel reads this and replies.

Thanks,

Ted

Dave,

Thanks for the reply. We did have the wifi on with the caboose, then opened the app. Guess after that we did not read the manual as we thought the same would occur with our IPhones. Nothing to add, just request service a few times and finally the phone saw the caboose and you press the skip button.

Going to try this next Sunday at the Brick, NJ show with the same set up with tablet and large monitor.

Thank you for replying.

Ted

The skip option comes up so you can set up a unique password for the caboose something you would want to do when operating more than 1 caboose on the layout. There is an option to operate up to 4 cabooses on 1 screen which is pretty cool.

Hoping this works with my Samsung as described above as I want to get my caboose next Sunday so we will have 2 operating there at the same time.

Just to add about the clarity of the picture, we were running the Santa Fe model and the picture was very good on the IPhones. Could only imagine what it will look like on a large monitor at a show!

Once again, thank you to Dave Olsen from Lionel for responding on our forum.
