Yes I had it in the run mode, I never seen one due that before, just took the body off and every thing looks fine. No broken wires or loose conections. It will run just off the transformer but not the Legacy - TMCC system.

It starts when you hit the power button on the key pad, You turn the knob and it does nothing, all the buttons blow the horn.

Yes it seems to be working Bill, I dont understand at all. I just tried some other engines and they work fine. I put it in program and it lets me set the engine number on the remote and blows the horn once when I hit the set button.

Should the program coad be 1 or 2 to re programe it? It wont let me do anything other than to start it up.

Jason-

This is the procedure for resetting a TMCC locomotive.

1. Ensure the TMCC base is connected to the track and all power is off.

2. Slide the "Run/Program" switch on the engine to "Program". You may have to turn the engine upside down and push the front truck to one side to see the switch.

3. Place the engine on the track and turn on track power

4. Using the remote, press "ENG", and then a number (0-99)

5. Press "set". If successful, you will hear the horn sound and/or see the headlight flash.

6. To set the engine sounds and feature type, press Aux1 and then 8. Once set, you should hear one or two horn blasts and/or see the lights flash.

7. Turn power off, slide the "Run/Program" switch back to "Run", then turn the power back on.

It is a long shot, but maybe the run/program switch was installed backwards or is broken.
