Lionel and MTH make streamlined Sante Fe passenger cars with red stripes. I've looked at a lot of prototype photos and none were shown. Did the Sante Fe have passenger cars painted like that?

There was another recent thread that addressed this topic.
Short answer: No, the Santa Fe never had red stripes on its silver streamlined passenger cars. The stripes are strictly the model train manufacturers’ creations.

Those red stripes sure look good on my Lionel O27 toy Santa Fe silver painted passenger cars.
