Now that I am retired I am going through my collection of unopened Lionel trains, tracks and accessories to begin projects. I have hooked up a new, out of the box SC-1 and got it to control 4 O gauge switches, but I am having a hard time getting the SC-1 to control accessories . I am using a workbench isolated electrically from my layout to get the SC-1 to test turning on/off simple accessories , like the rotary beacon. I actually got the SC-1 to turn the beacon on and off, but after turning everything off, I cannot duplicate this action. What sequence of buttons on a CAB-1 controller do I need to push to get the SC-1 to work reliably? I have it on a small power supply because I do not have switches connected to it ,and I am using a small transformer with only one set of a/u terminals , and a TMCC command base. I followed the wiring instructions per the instruction sheet, but I cannot get on/off or push/hold to work reliably.
Any suggestions?
